Obstetric fistula is one of the most serious and tragic injuries that can occur during childbirth. It is a hole between the birth canal and the bladder or rectum caused by prolonged, obstructed labour without treatment. 

While the International Labour Organization is celebrating 100 years of advancing social justice and promoting decent work, 152 million children are still in child labour. Child labour occurs in almost all sectors. 7 out of every 10 of these children are working in agriculture.

 The proposed amendment of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Bill is timely to ensure that it is aligned to the current labour situation in Uganda where the informal sector is controlling majority of the labour force, the civil society have said.
