The Symposium is organised by Uganda Association of External Recruitment Agencies (UAREA) and Ministry of Gender and Labour Social Development (MGLSD). The general public is requested in large numbers.

PLA will be offering legal aid services to workers with legal disputes and querries as well as raise awareness on safe options of labour migration during the National Symposium on safe and productive labour Migration. This will take place on 26th -27th November 2019 at Kololo Independence Grounds

A total of 87 District Labour Officers  (DLO) have implored Parliament to amend the Employment Act 2006, to address loopholes in the law. According to the labour officers, the current law doesn’t effectively address labour related issues in the country. 

The predominant model of employment in the region is the live-in arrangement, where millions of workers are subject to the stranglehold of an individual employer and their household. What are the viable alternatives to this prevalent model?
